本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛"My fellow human-being, whether you are a Christian or not, I think you would agree with me that we are looking at a cruel and unnecessary case of detainment and possible incarceration by the Communist North Korean regime of a 75-year-old South Australian man and Hong Kong resident named John Short. What was he arrested and detained for? The "crime" of possessing and distributing Gospel tracts (apparently only leaving one of these Gospel tracts in a Buddhist temple) in North Korea! Hardly an atrocious or hostile act by any moral standard, but for this "crime", he may face up to 15 years of imprisonment and hard labour should the DPRK choose to convict him. Even though Mr. John Short is reportedly healthy, I personally don't think that a 75-year-old senior can withstand imprisonment and hard labour for very long - so I plead with you, my fellow human-being, to take a minute or two to search your heart for that compassion within, and then to sign this petition, so that we can collectively move the appropriate authorities and public servants to take proper action! "
