I don’t have any problem with the vast majority of religious folks. I count myself among them, more or less. But I believe because it makes sense to me, not because I think it can be proven. There are lots of people out there who think they know the truth about God and religion, but does anybody really know for sure? That’s why the founding fathers built freedom of religious belief into the structure of this nation, so that everybody could make up their minds for themselves. But I do have a problem with the people who think they have some right to try to impose their beliefs on others. I hate what the fundamentalist fanatics are doing to our country. It seems as though, if everybody doesn’t accept their version of reality, that somehow invalidates it for them. Everybody must believe the same things they do. That’s what I find weak and destructive.

    1. I have had my time to look around, see what is going on in the world and understand that suffering, and competition are inevitable. People die unexpectedly, children die from terrible diseases. What type of merciful god would allow that to happen? None. I grew up non-religious, and was never fed the myth of religion. There was a moment when I came to question life and its purpose. The answer? To live. Life's purpose is to live, because you only have this one chance. With disease, famine, poverty et al., I have definitively ruled out the possibility of any god whatsoever.

    2. Its true, there is no God.The last refuge of "God" was the Deist belief, where people believed "God" created the universe. But that has now been shown to be false. It scares people to think that in fact, there is no God. There is massive proof there is no God, in fact, all of the evidence about Nature and reality itself, proves there is no God, other than the concept in the minds of humans. Man created the Gods, and as Nietzsche said long ago...haven't you heard? God died. The concept of God is dead.

    3. NOBODY knows how the Universe came to be. I doubt there is any 'god' because it does not make any sense at all. Religion was created by humans so they could control other humans. All religions are man-made fiction, as are all 'gods'. That is a fact.

    4. There exists 2 worlds: inside and outside. The outside w is rational and what IS. The inside w interprets the outside w in one's own mind. Therefore it is biased, irrational and selfserving. God exits only in the inside w. There is no God in the outside w. The mind creates a God to make it feel better and to explain the unexplanained. God did not create us. We created God.

    5.Christianity is a fable. Why? Because there are at least 3 references to ancient Gods with almost identical events that apparently Jesus went through hundreds and sometimes two thousand years BEFORE him. The Jesus story is plagararized from historical myths from eons ago. Proof? Google "Jesus as a reincarnation of Horus" then "Jesus as a Reincarnation of Mithra" and "Jesus as a Reincarnation of Krishna" and see for yourself.

    6. Yes, I can definitively know there is no god. Whether you choose to believe in one is fine with me, but don't let it get in the way of public policy. Have a problem with abortions? I don't care, we have a problem with orphan children, population, and poverty. Have a problem with gay marriage? I don't care again, they are people just like you and me and deserve equality.
