本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛i browse through Bible as leisure. One thing bothers me a lot is favoritism in it. I am father of two kids, and believe most parent with multiple children, would definitely avoid to have favoritism among their children, even deep bottom of heart they might have a bit favor to one child over others, but they would consciously suppress the favorism and try to do best to treat all children equally. But I see in Bible favoritism threads over all history of Old Testament. From begining, among Adams sons, namely Cain and Abel, God showed His favoritism and it caused,or at least partially caused, the first murder, first siblicide. Then when come down to Noah's day, among Noah's 3 sons, Ham got "Ham's curse" and Japheth's descendants(presumably white Caucasian primarily) seem doing a bit better than others, especially Ham's. Then we see Abraham's sons. Ishmael and Isaac, God made Ishmael great too (Muslim might be grateful on this), yet Isaac was clear His favorite. Then from Isaac, we see the favor for Jacob over Esau (I admit Esau was kinda stupid and Jacob was more likeable). Then Jacob did not hide his favoritism towards Joseph at all, this time the favorism almost caused another siblicide, if only not thanks to Reuban's pity. Ultimately, God's chosen people, the Jews. Why? God created every and each of people, why would He chose a group of people as His people? We are all His, Jews and gentile all along, right? I felt really confused when I read that God helped Israelites in wars against other people, which thousands people were killed. Does God love a rabbi more than me?更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
