Time and money are two important factors in our life. Time is money, because you can get paid after hours of work. On the contrary, you can buy everything else with money but not time. I used to work hard to earn money when I was young, but then I realized that money is not everything of the life. I don’t get a very good job but I can support daily living expenses- that’s enough. And when I talk with my friend Sandy, he agree with me:“Oh, yeah! Did you notice that after 1990’s people became concern more and more of the quality of the life? When people want to change a job, they may be not ask for a better salary, but for a flexible working schedule, more vacation or a company car. ”And then he told me a story of his friend:
My friend Joe used to work in a bank at downtown Toronto. He worked very hard, always through 8 o’clock to 6:30. One day when he was just working before a computer at 6 o’clock, his manager happened to saw him.
Then the manger asked Joe: “ Why are you still here, Joe?” Joe replied, “Oh, I have to finish something here.”
“No, no, Joe, we are not work like that, go home.” The manager said.
When he saw Joe was still puzzled, he continued to say: “ Listen, everything should be done between 9 to 5, if something is not finish, there is something wrong. Don’t worry, what you should do now is to go home and have a rest, adjust yourself and come tomorrow, try to finish the job between 9 to 5. ” This shocked him and after that he became working smart instead of doing something he did not know what he was doing. And at the same time, he found he got lots of extra time to share with his family.
